Five on Friday

Happy Friday Y'all!!!  I can't believe we are one week closer to Christmas, I am getting so excited for the holidays.  Today is my first time joining April, Christina, Natasha and Darci for their famous Five on Friday.  I had some ideas last night of what I was going to post if the Bronco's won but that ship sailed in the 2nd quarter!!!  Here is my revised list.

{One}
Riding Boots: I can't tell you how long I have been in the market for a pair of these Babies.  For some reason my calf seems to be on the "large" side and every boot that I try to wear just doesn't fit.  Also one of my calves is bigger then the other which makes it that much harder.  After much advise I decided to try Nordstrom's as they have an excellent return policy.  Got my first pair... you guessed it they didn't fit, shook off my frustration and decide to try one more time... Vola the boots arrived yesterday and I love them and they fit {HERE}!!!  Moral of the story, even after having trying on 100 10+ boots and going through multiple mini melt downs that my husband witnessed, there is a pair of riding boots out there for all.

{Two}
Starbucks: I just love all the holiday drinks and the cute little red cups that they come in.  Nothing screams "Holiday" to me then a warm lovely Starbucks in my hand.  My personal new favorite is...
"A skinny Chai Tea Latte with 2 squirts pumpkin or peppermint" this all depends on the mood I am in. They are fabulous and about half the calories of the other holiday drinks.

{Three}
New Jackets: I am a lucky girl and got two very nice early Christmas gifts from my awesome hubby.  I am a self proclaimed jacket connoisseur however I was in desperate need of a nice career jacket and a long, puffy, warm jacket. The career jack came from my favorite shop Ann Taylor Loft {HERE} and the puffy loveliness came from Eddie Bauer {HERE}.  I highly recommend both, I get compliments almost each day on both of them and a bonus is that they are very warm.

Wool Blend Twill Double Breasted Coat - Done in a luxe wool blend - and finished with utterly glam metallic buttons - this sophisticated sweet coat is one piece your cool weather wardrobe can't live without. Spread point collar. Double breasted button front. Long sleeves. Side pockets. Back buttoned waist tab. Inverted back pleat. Lined. 32 1/2" long.
Slope Side®  Down Parka

{Four}
Paperwhites: Most people say "what the heck are those?" My response... "my favorite holiday flower, duh!!" Not sure how I ever became obsessed with this holiday flower but I am sure my mom had something to do with it.  Every year I pick up my bulbs at a local florist and then drop them in water and watch them grow into the beautiful delicate flowers.  They make a great gift to give in a vase and they smell so good.  No Christmas is complete with out at least 4 sets of Paperwhites around my house.

{Five}
Snow on the Flatirons: This is one of those things that I try my hardest not to take advantage of everyday as I truly am blessed to live in a beautiful state.  Every day on my way to work in Boulder, CO I have the most wonderful view.  When it gets cold and snowy that view becomes magical.

These Are a few of my Favorite Things...

Today I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to talk about my favorite things under $10.  I was just thinking the other day that it would be a great Christmas gift to make up cute cards "These are a few of my favorite things" and give them out in gift bags for Christmas.  I think it would be a great gift for girlfriends and family members.  With out further ado here are my favorite things...

1. Oregon Chai, Single serving Vanilla Chai Tea Latte.  This is the best treat that I take to work and have a "special" drink on those extra cold days.  They taste great and are oh so easy to make.

2. EOS Lip Balm, these little eggs are wonderful.  Not only are they a fun shape but they come in awesome colors and flavors.  They do a great job with keeping your lips moist especially in this crazy cold weather we have been having in Colorado.

3. Yes to Cucumber facial wipes (I personally buy them at Target).  These are great to clean off your makeup and give your face an over all cleansing.  I love the smell and how it makes my face soft afterwards, it always feels like a mini facial.  They also have great travel sized packages you can take with you on trips.  I think it is genius that the have a plastic clip down lid so the packaging stays closed up tight and there are no issues with the wipes drying out.

4. Crystal Light Liquid.  I just love all the flavors and the fact that all it takes is one LOOOONG  squirt and you are in business with some of the best tasting water around.  The containers are compact and I must admit I have two at my desk, one in my purse and one at home.  Obsessed?  I think so!!

5. Victoria's Secret body spray scents, my personal favorite is Love Spell see HERE.  I am not a perfume girl at all... usually they make me sneeze my head off.  This however is the perfect blend of fruity and flowery described by the website as "irresistible blend of lush cherry blossom and juicy peach..". While technically this is over the $10 mark there are always coupons and I even got mine free with a coupon.  Victoria's Secret whole line of body sprays are great, there is defiantly a scent for everyone.

6. Redbook magazine I enjoy and look forward to when the new copy comes out each month and read it from cover to cover.  Personally for my stage of life this magazine hits all of my interests (beauty, food, clothes, finances, etc.).  There are great gift ideas and excellent beauty tips.  At any given time my magazine basket has at least 10 Redbooks.  They also are a great to take on trips!!

There you have it, my list of favorite things.  Go ahead try them out and tell me what you think.

Weekend Recap

 I am so happy the holiday's are in full swing and along with that all the festive activities.  We normally jam pack our weekend with plans but this weekend was rare where we took it easy.  I started off Saturday by getting my monthly message at Spavia, oh my heavens this is the best place to get spa treatments.  I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated afterward.

Saturday night Brad and I decided to have a date night and use some gift cards we had been saving up.  We started our night with a great dinner and P.F.Changs.  We decided to go to the mall where the AMC movies has new reclining chairs and a bar.  WOW my movie experience was about the best it could be lounged back in my big comfy red leather recliner.
Don't mind the fact the flash was so bright I look Asian
 We saw the Hunger Games and it was great on the bid screen, I really enjoyed the plot however I was disappointed at the end and the fact that I have to wait another year to see what happens!!  O'well it was a good cliff hanger.  I only read the first book so I was really into the movie and where they went with the plot.  I highly recommend if you have a movie theater near you with reclined seats GO, and go fast, you will not regret it.

Sunday we slept in (heaven) and took it easy until we meet our friend John at Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Bronco's game.  It is our tradition to get together with John/Maggie and other friends for every game, if you don't know my husband he is a Bronco FANATIC, not just a fan.  BWW is always a good place with lots of TV's and general excitement.  My Bronco's did not disappoint as they kicked the Titans butts and broke several records.  Matt Prater kicked the longest field goal in NFL history and Payton Manning is continuing to have the best season in his career.  I must admit I am now starting to act like Brad and go "cra-cra" if my boys don't win, I have to remind myself that it is just a game!!

We wrapped up Sunday night with the season finale of Amazing Race, Revenge and Betrayal.  All in all it was a great relaxing weekend!!
