Season Opener

Last weekend was the official "Season Opener" for the Sill's at Coors Field to cheer on the Colorado Rockies.  We try to make it to as many Sunday games as we can through out the season as it is a great way to spend the day.  As I am sure you all remember the last season opener that we went to was not quite the summer baseball game you think of.  This year was no surprise either as the whole game was FREEZING.
We started of the lovely cold day with breakfast/lunch at one of our favorite restaurants La Loma.  Maggie decide to come with Brad and I as she was not up for autographs with John.  We had a GREAT BIG adult beverage to start out the day right.

We then headed over to Coors to meet up with John and get settled to watch the Rockies lose try their hardest to win.  Luckily we had Club Level seats which gave us the freedom to be able to go in and out and not just freeze to death in the cold.  John meet up with us in the first inning after all of his autographing was done.

Before the game
All in all we were able to make the best out of the fact that it was freezing and the Rockies got their butts kicked.  I asked myself again why to I go to games in April... but who can't love the beauty of Coors field and great memories!!

Birthday Celebrations

Another birthday has come and gone.  It sure does get depressing the older you get but all you can do is plan lots of fun activities and forget about the number of candles on your actual birthday cake. I sure did have lots of fun with over a week of celebrating the big day.  Usually it is very cold for my birthday but this year I was lucky to have warm weather.  It was 65 plus degrees for all days that we celebrated.

We first started the festivities with a dinner at Barb and Bob house.  I requested they make fish taco's as they are always a fresh yummy treat.  We had lots of fun celebrating and eating.

The next celebration was on my actual birthday with Brad and my Mom.  It had been a very crazy day at work so we just decided to go out for tapas and drinks at The Med.  The food was delicious as always and it was fun to just have a quite celebration.  I got daffodils from both of them (my favorite flower) and nice cards and gifts.  My mom usually goes shopping with me and buys me what I would like but since it had been such a crazy day I got money to go shopping.  Brad got me an Otter box cover for my iPhone and a Travelocity gnome for the back yard.  Great gifts all around!!!
Gifts and Cards!!
LOVE my gnome!
Friday Brad treated me to a night stay in Black Hawk and a wonderful massage.  It was so nice to relax and have a good time.  We went to the Timberland Grill in Ameristar and enjoyed some great food.  Brad was smacking his lips over the large porter house steak that he ordered that had a large glob of butter on top.  We celebrated with a nice glass of champagne and then hit the slots.  We gambled some and had a great night.  The next morning we enjoyed the beautiful views on the roof top pool and hot tub and then packed up and headed to Denver for the last celebration.

Maggie and John had the great idea to stay in Denver since we would be parting it up all night.  It was fun to get checked in and wait for all the party goers to arrive.  We started off at The Rio with Maggie, John, Alex, Brad and myself.  We all enjoyed their famous margaritas and Mexican food.  Afterward I had been so excited to hear that Howl at the Moon opened up in Denver so we headed there to have fun.  Brad and I first experienced Howl in New Orleans and we had such a good time then so I knew it was my number one choice for my birthday.  WE HAD A BLAST.. between dancing and singing we all loved it!!!  John a self proclaimed piano bar hater even admitted he had a great time.  I was up dancing most of the time and all of us were singing our lungs out!!  It was so much fun, I highly recommend it to all.  Afterward we did more bar hopping until we finally called it a night.  The next day we shopped around the Pavilions and had breakfast before heading home.

John with Lady Gaga and a jello shot
As you can see it was a week worth of fun celebration. With this being my last year in my 20's I sure need to make the best of it before the big 3-0!!
